ABALONE

Abalone are sea snails. They are attached to their shells and if removed from it, they cannot reattach to the shell or make a new one. The holes on the shell are used to breathe, reproduce, and to get rid of waste. Abalone pearls were traded by natives in California for many years. Due to fishing, their numbers in California went down. Currently, the white and black Abalone population in California is considered an endangered species. This collection is a partnership with Prana called Nature’s Camo.
